Observation. Due by Day 7. This journal assesses your ability to think critically about how behavior can occur in chunks of time. This assessment also supports your achievement of Course Learning Outcome 5 and the MASE Program Learning Outcome 8.
Time sampling is a technique used to gather and record data about student behavior. This information can be used to provide baseline data about student behavior as well as to show any increases or decreases in the frequency of certain behaviors.
Instructions: Using support from your assigned reading, the Instructor Guidance, and the discussions, submit the following for evaluation. Use the below guidelines for creating your written assignment. If you have questions about the assignment or the rubric, please contact your instructor using the Ask Your Instructor discussion before the due date.
- First, watch PBIS video on classroom disruption.
- Next, using the recording sheet provided, watch the video again and record behavior that is of concern.
Pay special attention to either the student in front of the teacher in the white and pink sweater or the
student in the black turtleneck.
- Finally, provide a brief discussion (no more than one paragraph) on what was observed and the next steps
that need to be taken.
